He promoted himself as \"William Rockefeller, the Celebrated Cancer Specialist.\"  This cure was very expensive, an average of two months net pay for the American and it was only a laxative mixed with petroleum.  William Rockefeller spent a lifetime fleeing charges including, rape, swindling and horse stealing.  He changed his name to Dr. William Levingston to evade capture.
