Cassandre (1901-1968) was a Ukrainian-French Painter and commercial poster artist. He was perhaps best known for his distinctive Art Deco poster and advertising designs. Cassandre created his own Advertising Agency in the 1930's named Alliance Graphique, where he served a variety of clientele. His Dubonnet Wine posters were of the first designed to be visible by passing traffic, and his works were often compared to those of Pablo Picasso. In 1936, many of Cassandre's works were on exhibit in New York City's Museum of Modern Art, which consequently led him to draft designs for Harper's Bazaar. Cassandre also taught graphic design and created new typeface styles specifically for his poster designs. In 1963, he designed the distinct Yves St. Laurent logo. Unfortunately, Cassandre suffered from severe depression and, in 1968, he ended his own life.

Keywords specific to this image: wine, alcohol, alcoholic beverage, drink, winery

FZ2A5C36 zz2067

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1021/8371/products/FZ2_619_1067af8d-10f0-4462-991c-aaa79efe69bf.jpg?v=1571709103
https://www.periodpaper.com/products/1936-print-schenley-a-m-cassandre-sculpture-alcohol-art-dubonnet-alcohol-wine-107942-fz2-619
