This is an original 1937 color print of Isidore Godfrey, the musical director of the D'oyly Carte Opera Company. Godfrey was the director from 1929 to 1968, and conducted almost all of the company's performances. The opera company performed year round in the United Kingdom from the 1870s until 1982.
