This is an original 1867 black and white steel engraving of a portrait of Dr. I. I. Hayes of the S. S. United States schooner voyage of discovery toward the North Pole.

These items were obtained from a book from the State of Michigan as we acquired several collections from the historic archives/library. This 144+ year old Item is rated Very Fine / Fine. Light foxing and aging. Light wrinkling. No natural defects. Some light surface rub. No tears. No water damage. Please note that there is a blind emboss in the top left corner.
