This is an original 1876 black and white wood engraving of a woman enjoying a ride in her chaise-roulante (wheeled chair), a popular form of transportation during the reign of Louis XIV in France. The footman at the front does not seemed too pleased with the daunting task of carrying that enormous dress around.
