1878 Wood Engraving Oxford Crown King Charles I Mounted Coin Protestant XEC8

This is an original 1878 black and white in-text wood engraving of an Oxford Crown. On one side is an image of King Charles I on his horse in front of Oxford. The engraving reads:

CAROLUS D G MAG BRIT FR ET HIB REX

Charles by the Grace of God King of Great Britain, France and Ireland.

On the reverse side are the three crowns and inscription:

EXURGAT DEUS DISSIPENTUR INIMICI, Let God arise and His enemies be scattered.

And

RELIG PROT LEG ANG LIBER PAR 1643, The religion of the Protestants, the laws of England, the liberty of Parliament 1643.
