This is an original 1883 color chromolithograph of The "Las Casas" Picture in the Academy in Mexico. Bartolomé de las Casas was a 16th Century Spanish historian, social reformer and friar. He spent 50 years of his life fighting slavery and the violent colonial abuse of indigenous people. He is often seen as one of the first advocates for Human Rights.
