This is an original 1883 black and white photolithograph of "Hudibras in Tribulation", the sixth in a series of twelve engravings by William Hogarth (1697-1764) that illustrated Samuel Butler's mock heroic narrative poem entitled, "Hudibras". This piece portrayed Sir Hudibras and his squire Ralpho imprisoned in the stocks.
