This is an original 1884 black and white wood engraving of Sir Henry Morton Stanley's (1841-1904) expedition heading to the interior of Africa during the rainy season. Stanley is famous for his exploration of Africa. This Welsh journalist and explorer set out to find David Livingstone in Africa and famously said upon finding him, "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?"
