1888 Chromolithograph Candlestick Scissor Snuffer 17th Century Decoration LCH4

This is a rare original 1888 color chromolithograph which depicts, in fine detail, a sampling of candlesticks and scissor snuffers from 17th and 18th century Europe. Before the development of self-snuffing wicks, special scissors were designed to trim the wick, and later to extinguish it without the peril of blowing hot wax all over one's belonging and/or loved ones.
