This is an original 1890 black and white relief line-block print of a relief sculpture depicting the battle with the Marcomanni which were a Germanic tribe. This probably occurred in the 2nd century AD when the Marcomanni allied with the Vandals, Quadi, and Sarmatians against the Roman Empire.
