1890 Wood Engraving Church Holy Sepulchre Jerusalem Biblical Religious Site XGA7

This is an original 1890 black and white wood engraving of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, Israel. It is believed that the actual tomb of Christ was buried under this church. It is also believed that this was the site where Christ was crucified. However, in 135 AD, Roman Emperor Hadrian filled in the area in order to construct a temple for Aphrodite. The structure that stands today is smaller than the original,though the original structure was laid out in a much simpler manner.
