This is an original 1891 half-page print article about the Tower Bridge, a drawbridge and suspension bridge over the River Thames in London, England. The bridge spans the river from St. Catherine Docks, just below the site of the historic Tower of London, which gives it its name, to Tooley Street on the Surrey Side. Construction started in 1886 with the contractors Sir William Arrol & Company and Perry & Company. This article also features an excellent halftone illustration of the Tower Bridge over the Thames at London. Today, the Tower Bridge is an iconic symbol of London.
