1893 Etching Ein Kerem Church St John the Baptist Birth - ORIGINAL PS3

This is an original 1893 etching (individually hand-painted) of a Chapel in the Church of St. John the Baptist in the ancient village of Ein Kerem (now within the municipal boundaries of Jerusalem). Tradition identifies this village as the birthplace of St. John the Baptist. This Chapel represents the spot where St. Elizabeth is said to have given birth to John the Baptist.

CONDITION

This 118+ year old Item is rated Near Mint / Very Fine. Light aging in margins. No creases. No tears. No water damage. This 5 x 7 inch etching is mounted on its original fiber board measuring approx. 8 x 10.5 inches (note: there is printing on the reverse of the mounting board). The etching is in spectacular condition and would look stunning framed. (Please note that any aging in the outer margins is more pronounced in the digital image than on the actual item. In addition, the brilliant gold gilt appears dull brown in the digital image.)
