Please refer to listed second image for further information on The House and Church of St. Francis in the ancient city of Isthmus of Suez.

The term Isthmus is defined as a narrow strip of land connecting two larger lands, generally with bodies of water on either side. In this case, Isthmus of Suez connects Asia and Africa. Suez and Ismailia are seaside cites in the northeastern area of Egypt. The city of Suez is known to be a popular stop for the Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca. Port Tawfiq is a harbor of Suez. The town of Ismailia was documented to be found in 1863, during the Suez Canal construction. The Muslim Brotherhood was reportedly found in Ismailia by Hassan El-Banna in March of 1928.

Period Paper is pleased to offer an extraordinary and rare collection of original etchings of the Holy Land including Syria, Cyprus and Egypt.
