This is an original 1893 black and white halftone print of "Calodromas Elegans." This late nineteenth century image depicts the Elegant Crested Tinamou, also known as the Martineta Tinamou (Eudromia elegans), a medium-sized tinamou native to the shrublands of southern Chile and Argentina. The image misidentifies the wildfowl as "Calodromas Elegans."
