Ivan Petrovitch Pranishnikoff (1841-1909) was a Russian artist, hailing from Moscow. He studied under Charles-Gabriel Gleyre and was most recognized for his paintings, illustrations and realism style. PranishnikoffÕs works primarily centered on the American frontier genre, Native American culture, and war and military subjects. He was also well known for his illustrations and photography for ÒHarperÕs Weekly,Ó ÒBazaarÓ and ÒMonthlyÓ publications.
