This is an original 1894 black and white halftone print of Maria Fitzherbert (1756-1837) who was the secret wife of George, Prince of Wales, who late became King George IV of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Mrs. Fitzherbert had been widowed twice before and then was pursued by George. They were illegally married in secret without the approval of George's father, the current king.
