This is an original 1896 black and white halftone print of Friedrich Wilhelm III, the King of Prussia from 1797 to 1840. Wilhelm III was a constant addition to the Coalition forces during the Napoleonic Wars, and attempted to take on Napoleon with just his own forces during the War of the Fourth Coalition. Unfortunately he was greatly outmatched and the whole of the Prussian military was taken out of action in just 19 days, before his fellow Coalition members were able to mobilize to help him.
