1899 Photogravure Ancient Stolzenfels Castle Germany Neo Gothic XGYA5

This is an original 1899 duotone photogravure of the ancient Stolzenfels Castle in Germany, which was originally erected around 1260. In 1815, the castle was given as a gift to Frederick William IV of Prussia from the city of Koblenz. By 1826, the prince enlisted the help of architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel to had begun rebuilding the castle as a summer residence.
