This is an original 1900 black and white photogravure of Rupert, Count Palatine of the Rhine, Duke of Bavaria, 1st Duke of Cumberland, 1st Earl of Holderness. Otherwise, he is known as Prince Rupert of the Rhine. He was the first cousin of King Charles II of England.

Sir Anthony van Dyck (March 22, 1599 Ð Dec. 9, 1641) was a Flemish Baroque artist who was the leading court painter in England at the time. He is most famous for his portraits of Charles I of England and for painting them with a relaxed elegance that was to be the dominant influence on English portrait painting for the next 150 years.
