This is an original 1900 black and white photogravure of Thomas Wentworth, the 1st Earl of Strafford. He was staunch supporter of King Charles I and used his positions in the house and as the Lord Deputy of Ireland to maneuver power away from Parliament and back to the king, which made it all the more insulting when the King had to sign his death warrant after parliament signed a bill of attainder against him.
