This is an original 1901 black and white halftone print of Old Ambleside Market Place where Rydal Road is today. This small civil parish in Cumbria, England was where English Lake Poet, William Wordsworth eventually made his home on Mount Rydal where it still stands today.

The Literary Association of the English Lakes or the English Lake Poets were a collection poets and writers who lived in the picturesque Lake District of England in the 19th and 20th centuries. They were associated based simply on their subject matter, being inspired by the Lake District, and by their residence to that region of England. Notable scribes from this association were William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and Dorothy Wordsworth.
