This is an original 1902 black and white halftone print of a portrait of Prince Rupert of the Rhine (1619-1682) who was a soldier, admiral, scientist, sportsman, colonial governor and amateur artist. He was German prince Frederick V's younger son. He was also the Duke of Bavaria, Count Palatine of the Rhine, 1st Duke of Cumberland, and 1st Earl of Holderness.
