This is an original 1903 black and white photogravure of a wooden statue known as Sheikh el Beled, but most likely of a chief lector priest Ka-Aper from the 5th Dynasty. It was found during the Mariette excavations of 1860.

This item is from a limited edition collection of important historical prints of Ancient Egypt produced in 1903. The edition size produced at that time was out of 1,000 and this collection of prints was numbered 763. The edition and number are not present on the individual item but rather was provided for the collection as a whole.

This 108+ year old Item is rated Near Mint / Very Fine+. Light aging throughout. No creases. No natural defects. No surface rub. No tears. No water damage. Please note the large mark in the upper left corner, as well as the tiny mark in the upper right, both of which are visible in the digital image.
