1903 Print Hastings New York Orphan Asylum Hastings J. B. Baker ARC5

This is an original 1903 halftone print set (comprising two landscape-style, single-sided, unattached halftone prints) of the administrative building of the New York Orphan Asylum in Hastings, New York. This building was architecturally desinged by J. B. Baker. This Orphanage tried to change the negative effects of "institutionalism" by making this place seem like an actual home for the orphans who lived there by enacting the "cottage system" (where small groups of children lived in a cottage-type home with a cottage parent).

This 108+ year old Item is rated Near Mint / Very Fine+. Light aging in margins. Light wrinkling. No natural defects. Some light surface rub. No tears. No water damage. Please note that this is a two-page halftone print set comprising two unattached, single-sided landscape-style prints, both with no print on the reverse.
