This is an original 1904 color print of "L'Ecrivain Public. Je Prends La Plume D'Une Main Tremlante...Mon Julien! Mes Larmes Me Troublent La Vue; Je Ne Sais Si Vous Pourrez Me Lire." ("The Public Letter Writer. I take up the pen with a trembling hand...My Julien! tears dim my eyes; I know not whether you will be able to read what I write...") from the "La Boite Aux Lettres" ("The Mailbox") collection.

French caricaturist and artist Paul Gavarni favored the stone medium over any other in their artwork styles. He was also among the most accomplished lithographic draughtsmen in the world.
