This is an original 1905 color print of the cloisters of the Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi (St. Francis) in the hilltown of Assisi, Italy. St. Francis was born in this town. His church and the Franciscan monastery are World Heritage Sites and were begun in 1228 AD. A cloister is a rectangular covered walkway which is attached to a church. Assisi is located in the region of Umbria.
