This is an original 1905 color print of the south end of Waterloo Bridge in London, England. This bridge crosses the River Thames and the first bridge on this site opened in 1817 as a toll bridge. We believe that St. Paul's Cathedral can be seen in the distance.

Marshall, Herbert Menzies

English painter and illustrator Herbert Menzies Marshall (1814-1913) was born in Leeds and studied at both Westminster School and Cambridge University. He soon discovered that watercolors were his passion, and due to his great talent, he was able to exhibit at such places as the Royal Academy. Later in life, he became a professor at Queen's College, teaching his students the fine art of landscape painting.
