This is an original 1906 halftone print of the Plaza de Mayo of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The present-day square is known as the Plaza de Mayo, and was created in 1884 when the colonnade which separated the Plaza del Fuerte and Plaza de la Victoria was destroyed. Shown in the background is the dome of the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Cathedral.
