This is an original 1906 halftone print of a piece by Dutch Golden Age artist Gerrit Dou (1613-1675) entitled here as "The Young Housekeeper." Although he specialized in genre scenes, he also did some excellent work using trompe-l'oeil and chiaroscuro techniques during his painting career.
