This is an original 1907 black and white in-text wood engraving of the house of Cardinal David Beaton on the Cowgate in Edinburgh, Scotland. Cardinal Beaton was Archbishop of St. Andrews and the last Scottish Cardinal prior to the Protestant Reformation.
