This is a rare original 1908 halftone print of Sir Thomas Lipton's racing yacht, the Shamrock IV, being prepared for its launch into the water; it launched in an unusual way by merely sinking the pontoon boat that it was built on. This was the first vessel of its kind to be lit with electricity.
