Thermos. Thermos L.L.C., founded in 1904, is the worldwide leader in manufacturing of insulated and vacuum sealed food and beverage containers. The company name has become the generalized term for all vacuum flasks. Amongst chemists the thermos is known as a Dewar flask, in recognition of the inventor, Sir James Dewar.
In addition to the vacuum flask, Thermos is credited with the invention of the vacuum-insulated double-walled Pyrex glass vessel, the first fully lithographed steel lunch box and Thermos combo (with the image of Roy Rogers), and the first stainless steel vacuum bottle.
Today Thermos is a company with over 100 years of rich history, technological developments, and a full line of products including soft-side IsoTec coolers, coffee carafes and mugs, and children's lunch kits.
