This is an original 1909 black and white relief line-block print that depicts a scene from the Battle of Kadesh, one of the earliest occasions in which tactics and formations were used in battle. Here, we can see Rimisharrinaa, King of Aleppo, being held upside down to disgorge water from the Orontes. His troops, among those of the large Hittite army, are fleeing across the river to avoid any further altercation with the Egyptians.
