These two images capture the portal entrance of the Church of St. Trophime (Trophimus), a Roman Catholic church (former cathedral) in Arles, France. Built between the twelfth and fifteenth centuries, the church is a significant example of Romanesque architecture. The portal captured in these images, specifically the sculpture and columns, represent some of the finest remaining examples of Romanesque sculpture.
