"Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm" was originally a 1903 children's novel by Kate Douglas Wiggin, until it was remade into a theatrical play in 1909 when Wiggin co-wrote the play with Charlotte Thompson. The Broadway play was produced by Klaw and Erlanger. In the 1938 film version of the play Shirley Temple played the character of Rebecca. Portrait studies by Peter Van Valkenburgh.
