This is an original 1913 halftone print of a Title Drawing form The Maid Mistress by Emil Preetorius. Emil Preetorius was one of the most important stage designers of the first half of the 20th century. He was the cofounder of a school of illustration and the book trade in Munich with Paul Renner. He became the head of scenery for the Bayreuth "Festspiele" and he also was the president of the Bayeruscge Akademie der Schonen Kunste in Munich.
