This is a rare original 1914 halftone print of Islands of Safety in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Through the efforts of Fred G. Simmons, commissioner of public works in Milwaukee, safety islands were established in the intersections of Juneau and Prospect Avenues, Grand Avenue and Sixteenth Street, and in front of city hall.
