This is an original 1914 black and white halftone print of "Émile Vandervelde, Leader of the Socialist Party." Emile Vandervelde became a member of the Belgian Labour Party (Belgische Wekliedenpartij or Parti Ouvrier Belge), the first socialist labor party of Belgium, in 1886. He later acted as president of the party from 1928 to 1938.
