This 91+ year old Item is rated Near Mint / Very Fine. Light aging throughout. Light wrinkling. No natural defects. No surface rub. No tears. No water damage. Please note that there is printing on the reverse. Also note there is black mark on the right margin of this image; it can be seen in the digital copy, and could easily be matted out.

Gay, Walter

Walter Gay (1856-1937) was an American painter based in Paris, France. His paintings most often portrayed common peasant life, and he received awards for his work across Europe. After his death, his widow remained in France, unfortunately just in time for the German occupation. In 1943 she passed away in her own home, having been unable to return to her hometown in New York.
