This is an original 1920 duotone photogravure on classic laid stock for, "Salon des Aigles, Hotel Crillon, Paris," featuring the room from some of the meetings at the Paris Peace Conference of 1919. The Louis XVI decorations are of white and gold.

Gay, Walter

Walter Gay (1856-1937) was an American painter based in Paris, France. His paintings most often portrayed common peasant life, and he received awards for his work across Europe. After his death, his widow remained in France, unfortunately just in time for the German occupation. In 1943 she passed away in her own home, having been unable to return to her hometown in New York.
