The men pictured include, Lieutenant Colonel Hugh Matthews, Colonel Preston Brow, Major General J. A. Lejeune, Colonel James C. Rhea and Lieutenant Colonel G. A. Herbst. The second image shows an artillery observer of Battery B, 21st Artillery, 5th Division, relaying military intelligence information via telephone. The last image shows machine gunners and supply trains waiting for a blocked road to be cleared in the war torn village.
