1922 Print Wisconsin Politician John Hawkins Rountree - ORIGINAL HISTORIC WIS1

This is an original 1922 halftone print featuring an image of John Hawkins Rountree, a Wisconsin pioneer, politician, and served in the Wisconsin State Senate and in the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1863.

Hawkins also served in the Wisconsin Territorial Legislature, Wisconsin State Constitution Convention, and was a captain in a militia during the Black Hawk War. He served as judge in the Michigan Territory and later the Wisconsin Territory. The Territory of Wisconsin was an organized incorporated territory of the United States that existed from July 3, 1836, until May 29, 1848.
