This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of the airliner Santa Maria shown up against skyscrapers of New York City. The caption writes, "The seaplane Santa Maria, which was the first to make an aerial passenger trip between Key West and Cuba, is here seen leaving her airport on the Hudson on one of the first commercial trips of the season, with a background of towering skyscrapers, as she nears the battery on a flight to Atlantic City, New Jersey. She follows the coastline as closely as possible in her journeys, so that in case of a fall dangerous fatalities may be lessened."
