This is an original 1923 halftone print of "Pharoah's Bed," photography courtesy of Donald McLeish. This beautiful structure was never finished, the roof was never made, nor were the high blocks on the columns carved into Hathor heads, as was apparently the intent. The temple was dedicated to the god Isis. Reliefs on the walls represent Trajan giving wine to Isis and Horus, as well as standing before Isis and Osiris. The stonework was once a beautiful pale yellow, but overtime, the Nile has transformed it into a dreary gray.
