This is an original 1923 halftone print of the Temple of Bacchus, photography courtesy of Donald McLeish. It is one of the best preserved ancient buildings in all of Syria. The temple was commissioned by Emperor Antoninus Pius, it is close to the Temple of Jupiter- Baal. 19 of the original 42 columns are still standing upright.

CONDITION

This 88+ year old Item is rated Near Mint / Very Fine+. Light aging throughout. No creases. No natural defects. Some light surface rub. No tears. No water damage. Please note that there is print on the verso. If you look closely, there is a light image of a box that extends onto the top right of the image. It ends at the top of the columns.
