This is an original 1923 halftone print of two images, the bottom image depicts the ruins of a building and drinking fountain which were originally built by a priestess named Eumachia. The top image is a recreation of what a visitor would have seen before the ruins. Both images depict a public drinking fountain, which would have been located in front of the Street of Abundance, which was an ancient shopping district dealing with fine jewelry and other luxury markets located in Pompeii.
