This is an original 1923 halftone print of the Market of Sertius in Timgad (otherwise known as Thamugas or Tamugadi). Timgad is an ancient Roman town in Algeria, close to modern-day Batna. This archaeological find represents one of the best examples of Roman city planning, which were often built in grid-like patterns. Please note the dimensions of this image.
