This is an original 1923 halftone print courtesy of American Colony, Jerusalem. The image is of the breathtaking gorge between pillars of red sandstone that, at one time, was the only entrance to the valley city of Petra. The city is considered the treasure of the ancient world, hidden behind a barrier of rugged mountains, full of majestic scenery. It strikes wonder into all who find it and this desert city is the biggest tourist attraction in all of Jordan.
